The factors that have helped me in my recover would be making the decision to come to Hannah House. To put in the work that needs to be done to have a chance at a new life. To work the steps daily and learn all the tools offered to me at Hannah House. The support and love of the staff and women in this house has made this journey easier than I thought it would be and made me feel comfortable to be here and know I’m never alone.
In addiction I almost died. I joined a detox center to help me through the withdrawls and get me back on my feet. From there I realized how important life is to me and I wanted recovery in my life after that experience.
In my recovery journey I went to detox, then I came to Hannah House. The guidance and support they offer has been amazing and really helped me in my recovery.
Staying strong and getting through detox was a big wake up call for me. I keep listening to everything that is offered to me at Hannah House and accepting support from all the staff and other clients has been huge factors for me to maintain this change.
I often think of my sons seizures and the pain my daughter has been through. Seeing their faces while watching me be so sick was heart breaking. They would beg me for help but I couldn’t do anything to help. It was very hard for me. Even my cat would stay by my side and wouldn’t leave me because he knew I wasn’t well was a very sad reality.
I am grateful to not be there anymore.
